SaaS & Cloud Computing Create New Benchmarks For IT
An increasing number of companies today are adopting Software-as-a-Service and Cloud Computing services to enhance or indeed replace their software and systems.
A recent survey of over 100 medium to large companies worldwide, carried out at the end of 2008 by ‘THINKStrategies’ , found that the number of companies using SaaS applications had nearly doubled from 32% in 2007 to 63% in 2008.
Furthermore, almost 100% of the survey participants were very satisfied with their SaaS solutions and over 90%:
Ø Planned to renew their subscription services
Ø Wanted to expand their use of SaaS
Ø Would recommend SaaS to their peers
This success demonstrates organisations’ growing acceptance of SaaS and Cloud Computing as an alternative or enhancement to their existing software and systems.
